Wuhan-Yichang section of Yangtze HSR breaks ground

沿江高铁汉宜段建设工作全面启动

The construction of Wuhan-Yichang section of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River (Yangtze HSR) was started on Dec. 20, and is expected to be completed within four years. Stopping at Tianmen, Jingmen and three other stations, the Wuhan-Yichang section has a total length of 313.9 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 km / h. The entire Yangtze HSR will connect Chengdu, Chongqing, Wanzhou, Yichang, Wuhan, Hefei, Nanjing, Shanghai and some other major cities. Upon its full completion, the travel time from Wuhan to Shanghai, Chengdu and Chongqing will be greatly shortened.

12月20日，沿江高铁武汉至宜昌段启动建设，建设工期四年。武汉至宜昌段沿线经武汉、天门、荆门至宜昌，项目线路全长313.9公里，设7座车站，设计时速为350公里。据悉，沿江高铁沿线经过成都、重庆、万州、宜昌、武汉、合肥、南京、上海等主要城市，全线建成后，武汉到上海、成都、重庆时间将大大缩短。

Wuhan has two more national first-class museums

武汉新增2家国家一级博物馆

On Dec. 21, the list of the fourth batch of national first-class, second-class and third-class museums was announced. Wuhan Revolution Museum and Changjiang Civilization Museum were newly named as national first-class museums. Seven others were promoted to the second-class and third-class levels. The total number of national museums in Wuhan is now 18, made up of six first-class, five second-class and seven third-class ones. Ranking at the front among the 15 sub-provincial cities in China, the result demonstrates Wuhan's cultural soft power.

12月21日，第四批国家一、二、三级博物馆名单公布，武汉革命博物馆、长江文明馆等2家单位为国家一级博物馆，另有7家单位新晋二三级博物馆。至此，武汉市国家一、二、三级博物馆总数达到18家，其中一级博物馆6家、二级博物馆5家、三级博物馆7家，在全国15个副省级城市中名列前茅，彰显了城市文化软实力。

Wuhan plans to build new Wuhan Library and Wuhan Center for Chinese Operas

武汉将规划建设武汉图书馆新馆、武汉戏曲艺术中心

On Dec. 22, at a press conference held by the Information Office of Wuhan Municipal People's Government, it was announced that Wuhan will build a cultural facility network which allows citizens access to libraries, museums, parks and theaters within a 12-minute walking distance from wherever they live in the city. In addition, Wuhan plans to build a new Wuhan Library and Wuhan Center for Chinese Operas.

12月22日，武汉市人民政府新闻办公室举行新闻发布会。会上获悉，武汉将建设12分钟文体圈，让市民在12分钟步行路径内能享受到图书馆、博物馆、公园、剧院等。此外，武汉将规划建设武汉戏曲艺术中心、武汉图书馆新馆。

Pocket parks spring up among streets and lanes

一百座口袋公园岁末“绽放”武汉三镇

A total of 100 abandoned pieces of land in the city have been transformed into beautiful urban parks this year. Citizens are delighted to see these pocket parks suddenly appearing like mushrooms among the streets and lanes. The parks are dotted around the city, covering areas ranging from a few hundred square meters to over 10,000 square meters. Besides a variety of flowers being planted, benches, footpaths and pavilions were built in these parks, offering citizens pleasing places to relax. Another 100 pocket parks are expected to be built in the city next year.

年初还是荒废地，岁末即变身美丽养眼的公园。近日，武汉100座口袋公园如鲜花般绽放在街头巷尾。这些口袋公园，大则逾万平方米，小则几百平方米。除了种植各种鲜花，还配置了一些座椅、步道和凉亭，成了市民休闲的好去处。据悉，明年武汉市将再建100座口袋公园。

Wuhan Fitness Games 2020 draws to an end

武汉全民健身运动会落幕，明年再约！

The Wuhan Fitness Games 2020 held its closing and award ceremonies on Dec. 20 at the Liangzi Lake Scenic Area, Jiangxia, officially ending the five-month-long event. The games this year held 30 major events, and over 30,000 sports enthusiasts, referees and work staff participated in the competitions. More than one million citizens were involved in this sports carnival.

12月20日，持续了近5个月的2020武汉全民健身运动会在江夏梁子湖风景区举行闭幕式暨颁奖盛典，正式落下帷幕。今年的武汉全民健身运动会举行了30个大项的比赛与体验活动，直接参与赛事活动的体育健身爱好者和各项目裁判员、工作人员超过30000人，影响和带动了超过百万人群参与到全民健身运动中来。
