Wuhan's 4th Ring Road completed

四环线主线贯通

The construction of Wuhan's 4th Ring Road was completed on January 2. Intended as a fast track for freight transport, the 148-kilometer long road goes past six urban districts — Qingshan, Huangpi, Dongxihu, Caidian, Jiangxia, and Hongshan — as well as three national development zones — Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, and Wuhan Airport Economic Development Zone.

1月2日，武汉四环线主线正式贯通。武汉四环线项目全长约148公里，位于武汉绕城高速和三环线之间。四环线定位于货运快速通道，沿途经青山、黄陂、东西湖、蔡甸、江夏、洪山6个城区和沌口、东湖、临空港三大国家级经济开发区。

Kingsoft (Wuhan) headquarters starts construction

金山软件（武汉）总部开工

On January 6, the Kingsoft (Wuhan) headquarters started construction at a site near Gaoxin Fourth Road. Since Kingsoft established itself in Optics Valley in 2017, its business has grown rapidly. With an investment of RMB 4 billion, the headquarters will be positioned as an important R&D and talent training base. In the future, Kingsoft will locate its center for new global business in Optics Valley.

1月6日，金山软件（武汉）总部在光谷高新四路附近开工。金山软件2017年在光谷布局以来，业务规模快速增长，此次扩大投资40亿元成立金山软件（武汉）总部，未来将武汉作为重要的研发基地和人才培养基地，并将一系列新业务的全球中心放在光谷。

Wuhan ports' annual container throughput reaches record high

武汉港集装箱年吞吐量创历史新高

On January 5, the Wuhan New Port Administration Committee revealed that the container throughput of Wuhan's ports in 2020 hit a record high of 1.93 million TEUs, a 14.4% year-on-year increase. This achievement ranked Wuhan's ports as No. 1 among other cities' ports in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River.

1月5日，记者从武汉新港管理委员会获悉，武汉港2020年集装箱吞吐量再创历史新高，达193.25万标箱，同比增长14.4%。这一成绩稳居长江中上游港口第一位。

Wuhan receives most likes on Douyin

武汉成抖音获赞最多城市

On January 5, Douyin, China's version of TikTok, released the "2020 Douyin Data Report." The report disclosed that by December 2020, Wuhan had become the city receiving the most likes on Douyin that year, exceeding 8.3 billion. Among them, the number of likes for "Stay strong, Wuhan" and "Hot-and-dry noodles" was the highest. Netizens wrote 28.22 million comments about "Stay strong, Wuhan" and 1.85 million about "Hot-and-dry noodles."

1月5日，抖音发布《2020抖音数据报告》。报告披露，截至2020年12月，武汉成为当年全平台获赞最多的城市，超过83亿次。其中，“武汉加油”“热干面”获赞最多。平台数据显示，共有2822万次评论关于“武汉加油”、185万次评论关于“热干面”。

LIGHTS Festival at Wuhan Happy Valley

武汉欢乐谷LIGHTS游乐园上线

Wuhan Happy Valley is hosting the LIGHTS Festival, the first time a Smiley-branded festival is being held in Central China. It will run for two months from January 1. The Smiley brand is symbolized by the round yellow face with oval eyes, and the smile with ticks on the ends. The festival divides the park into five thematic areas employing 32 sets of modern lighting installations. To celebrate the year 2021, there are 2021 smileys in popular styles scattered around the park.
