The Foreign Ministry Special Promotion Event for Hubei "Heroic Hubei: Reborn for New Glories" was held on April 12 in Beijing. Wuhan once again was put under the global spotlight. The event saw the unveiling ceremony of a commemorative envelope for Hubei. The envelope featured cherry blossoms and the Yellow Crane Tower of Wuhan. A special exhibition, dedicated to "Heroic Hubei: Reborn for New Glories," was set up at the entrance to the event venue as well, where Wuhan’s iconic scenery such as the East Lake Greenway and delicious food such as hot-and-dry noodles were showcased.


4月12日下午,以“英雄的湖北:浴火重生 再创辉煌”为主题的外交部湖北全球特别推介活动在北京举行,“浴火重生”的武汉再次成为全球关注焦点。推介活动上,武汉樱花黄鹤楼登上外交纪念封明信片。“英雄的湖北:浴火重生 再创辉煌”主题展览同期举办,东湖绿道、热干面等武汉美食美景登上展览展板。


2 Wang Shuang helps women's football team reach Olympics

China's women's football team has booked its spot at the Tokyo Olympics after beating the Korean team 4:3 in the Asian Qualification playoffs in Suzhou on April 13. Wuhan-born player Wang Shuang contributed one goal and one assist in the game. Afterwards, she expressed gratitude for her hometown, saying her goal was for the heroic Wuhan.

4月13日,中韩女足在苏州对决。武汉妹子梅开二度,助中国女足以总比分4比3胜出,晋级东京奥运会。比赛结束后,王霜表示,要把制胜进球献给自己的家乡,献给英雄的城市——武汉。


3 Topic #MywordsforWuhan arouses heated discussion

The Facebook account "Discover Wuhan" livestreamed the Foreign Ministry Special Promotion Event for Hubei on April 12 and created the topic #MywordsforWuhan at the same time, inviting global netizens to share their experiences and feelings related to the city. So far, posts under the topic have been viewed by nearly 1 million people and got over 10,000 interactions from international netizens. Famous journalists working for international media, professors, scholars, documentary directors, embassies of China in other countries, and China's state media also forwarded "Discover Wuhan’s" post or left messages under it.

在外交部湖北全球特别推介会召开之际,武汉“国际交往平台”@Discover Wuhan脸书账号直播推介会,同步发起#MywordsforWuhan话题,邀全球网友喊话武汉。截止目前,相关内容话题已获得近百万次阅读,收获上万次互动。外媒记者、教授学者、纪录片导演、驻外使馆、央媒大号纷纷在Discover Wuhan转发或留言。


4 Documentary director Ryo Takeuchi revisits Wuhan

Ryo Takeuchi, a Japanese documentary director who recorded Wuhan's battle against COVID-19 several times, returned to the city with his wife. "She has not been to Wuhan before, so I decided to take her around the city." Besides travelling, Takeuchi livestreamed his trip to the Hubu Alley, a local street famous for Wuhan snacks. Enticed by the smell of hot-and-dry noodles he bought for the livestream, Takeuchi slurped the noodles even before the camera began filming.

曾多次记录武汉抗疫历程的日本导演竹内亮,4月10日携妻子来到武汉。“因为她没有逛过武汉,所以我决定带她逛武汉各种地方。”准备在户部巷直播前,竹内亮买好了热干面,直接先动筷子吃了起来。


5 "L'invisible: I'art aux X-rays" exhibition opens

《不可见:X射线下的艺术》在武汉展出

The "L'invisible: I'art aux X-rays" exhibition, a cultural event under the framework of the 2021 Croisements Festival, is currently underway at Wuhan Art Museum. On display are 64 pieces of artwork created by French artist Xavier Lucchesi, the only artist authorized to use X-rays to scan works of art at museums and galleries in France in order to recreate them as multi-hued pieces. The exhibition lasts until May 19.

2021中法文化之春展览《不可见:X射线下的艺术》日前在武汉美术馆开展。本次展览共展出法国艺术家泽维尔•卢舍斯的64件作品。泽维尔•卢舍斯是法国当代艺术家中唯一被授权使用X射线对法国艺术馆内的经典作品进行再创作的艺术家。本次展览将持续到5月19日。
