According to city.sohu.com, based on data released by the cultural and tourism bureaus of major Chinese cities, during the National Day holiday Wuhan received 21.165 million tourists, ranking it 1st nationwide, and its tourism revenue amounted to RMB 11.092 billion ranking it 4th in China.

People used to go on long-distance trips during the long national day holiday. Nowadays, however, as COVID-19 has exerted lasting impacts on the culture and tourism industries, short-distance travel has become more popular, making Wuhan and other major cities hot tourist destinations. On top of that, Wuhan has continually upgraded its cultural tourism products since last year. Many scenic areas have rolled out high-quality services. The tourism infrastructure has also been upgraded. People inside the tourism industry believed that all these factors enabled Wuhan to see an upsurge in the number of visitors this year.
